Turkey - Istanbul Stop Over
October 2017 - Another opportunity to attend the International Association of Educational Measurement Annual Conference. Another opportunity to travel abroad. Another opportunity to add a SB tumbler in my collection. Unfortunately, there was no SB in Batumi, Georgia. Fortunately, we had almost 5 hours stopover at Atatuk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, where there is a SB store. Unfortunately (again), there was no tumbler available at the store. So, I looked for a mug - but no Istanbul mug was also available. I, then, got myself a country mug - Turkey. The mug features Mount Nemrut, one of the notable summits in Turkey where a number of large statues are found and believed to be royal tomb from 1st century BC. The back of the mug shows Cappadocia region, the most popular location in the world for hot air ballooning. The mug costs Lira 30.00. Thinking that I might not be able to come in this place in the next decade or if ever I can, Global Icon Series is no longer available,
