Magnum: Now or Never
You heard it right. Yes, the Magnum Pleasure Store in SM Aura, Taguig City has already been closed since July 29, 2015.
Well actually, the first time I searched about it on internet, I already learned Magnum Cafes were meant to last for certain period only. They are supposedly pop-up stores - they will last for just a period of time. But I didn't buy this then since according those I read, it lasts for just a year and in the case of Magnum Manila, it has been there for almost two years. So, I thought it might not be the case for the one here in Manila.
It was three weeks before it closes when I learned from Instagram posts that Magnum Manila will be closing soon. So, as fanatic as I am, I told Katz (fellow fanatic) about it and we decided to experience Magnum Pleasure for the last time. The first date we set did not push through since it was already late when we got out of the office (Manila is not a commuter friendly city). The next date we set, that was two before the last day, rain began to fall even before we got out of the office. So, Katz and I didn't have any other chances of visiting the cafe together.
A day before it finally closes, together with my officemates, Rochelle and Raymon, we dropped by Magnum Manila during lunch break and grabbed our concluding bars.
Raymon's Bar: vanilla ice cream dipped in dark chocolate, topped with chopped pistachios, honeycomb bits and double speculoos cookies, and drizzled with white chocolate.
Rochelle's Bar: chocolate ice cream bar dipped in dark chocolate, topped with double speculoos cookies, crushed oreo and chocolate crunch balls, and drizzled with white chocolate.
And mine: chocolate ice cream bar coated in dark chocolate and topped with spicy chicharon (s'yempre para me pinoy touch), parmesan popcorn and honeycomb bits, covered with ribbons of Belgian milk chocolate.
Magnum experience was indeed a Pleasure!!!
