Manila: Version 2
In celebration of Manila Day last June 24, 2016, I collected my Starbucks Global Icon Series - Manila version 2. Thematic, isn't it?
Actually, everything was coincidental...
Starbucks released another version of its Global Icon Series Collection for Manila, Philippines, Cebu, Boracay and Baguio late last year up to early this year. At my current location and considering my concept of collecting Starbucks tumbler, the most probable tumbler I could get is either Manila or Philippines. If I am to get the new Philippines tumbler, I'll collect it from Tagaytay or Bulacan or any place near Manila. If I am to get the new Manila tumbler, I'll definite collect it from "old" Manila. And since there's a promo stub from Starbucks planner for June, the time to collect another tumbler is within this month.
Banny and I planned to go to Starbucks- Intramuros last June 25, 2016, not knowing that it was Manila Day, the day before it. So laking tuwa ko when I realized it - Manila tumbler on Manila Day (a day after). From our meeting place in Quiapo, we took Pier 15 jeepney and asked Manong driver to drop us off at the Bureau of Immigration (alam ko, katapat lang nun ang Starbucks). It was not exactly at our destination where Manong driver dropped us off - at a ruins few steps from Starbucks. Achieve na dapat but when we got there - nasa outing sila kasi Manila Day! Pak!!
So, after taking some photos, we took taxi and went to the nearest Starbucks that first got into our mind - Starbucks - Bayview Hotel.
And there, I collected my Manila version 2 - Starbucks Global Icon Series tumbler!
NOTES:
The Manila version 2 features Kalesa, a mode of transportation during the Spanish era, at the front while its back features the main gate of Fort Santiago, one of the most historical sites in Manila.
