Batangas Lomi

I am a pancit lover.  Whenever there's pancit in the menu list, I would surely place an order for it. During rainy days, pancit noodle soups are the best.

But it was not a rainy day when I first encountered Batangas lomi.  It was actually summer in 2015 and we were on our way to our annual outing venue when we dropped by this panciteria just after Star Toll Way Exit in Batangas City, Batangas.

Batangas lomi is not the usual lomi which most of us are familiar with. For one, this noodle soup does not have vegetable but it has sahog overload.  It has ground pork meat, pork liver, kikiam, chorizo and quail eggs. The noodles are also thicker. And even the brooth is thicker than usual with dissolved (chicken) egg. (Others even topped it with crispy chicharon.) -- A bowl of special lomi, good for 1 person, costs P45.00.
