The return of Magnum Pleasure
The pleasure makers are back!!!
I was so delighted to find out that the famous pop-up ice cream store is back in Manila with new location at the 2nd Floor Main Wing, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The store really opened in December 2015 but it was only in July 2016 when I found this out through an Instagram post of a college classmate.
Unlike the previous Magnum cafe in SM Aura, the new store does not longer offer dishes other than customized bar.
With the span of four weeks after knowing its return, I already visited Magnum Store twice.
The first one was with my officemate, Banny on August 6, 2016. Inaya ko talaga sya to satisfy my cravings.
Banny's bar: vanilla ice cream bar dipped in dark chocolate; topped with marshmallows, dried mangoes and crushed pistachios; and drizzled with milk chocolate.
My bar: vanilla ice cream bar dipped in dark chocolate; topped with pastillas leche, crushed pistachio and chili flakes; and drizzled with white chocolate. Ngayon ko lang napatunayan kung gaano kakaiba ang panlasa ko - but I love the combination of flavors - the vanilla and dark chocolate were not so sweet and then there were slight taste of super sweet pastillas, salty pistachio and spicy chili.
My second was with my high school buddy (and beastfriend), Roger, on August 18, 2016. Roger is currently living in abroad with his family and is currently in the Philippines for vacation. As send-off trip, I brought him to this place for (dessert) pleasure.
Roger's bar: vanilla ice cream bar dipped in dark chocolate; topped with pastillas leche, crushed almonds and pistachios; and drizzled with white chocolate.
My bar: chocolate ice cream bar dipped in white chocolate; topped with pastillas leche, dark and milk chocolate crunch balls; and drizzled with dark chocolate. - Hindi na ako uulit sa white chocolate dip, it was too sweet!!! I really prefer the dark one. Pero at least, may kwento na ako about white chocolate. :)
So far, these were my pleasure experiences at the 2nd wave of Magnum Manila. I'm looking forward to more customized magnum bars with more friends. :)
