The Bodhi Path and the Divine Generals

Many have changed since the first time I visited Ngong Ping in 2009.  One particular change that I noticed when we came back there in December 2014 (that's after 5 years) was the Bodhi Path at the new Ngong Ping Piazza.

'yong mga ganitong shots ang madalas namin pag-awayan ni mama ^_^

The Bodhi Path is composed of a majestic Arch at the entrance (from Ngong Village) and the statues the Twelve Divine Generals aligned up to the Di Tan or "Altar of the Earth".

The Twelve Divine Generals are known by Buddhist faithfuls as the protective deities of the Buddha of Healing.  Each of them are associated with a specific time of the day and the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals.
