Mezuzah

In Israel, you will never miss noticing this ornament, usually made of steel, at every door. It is called Mezuzah.

A mezuzah declares that the people who dwell here(where the door is) live Jewish lives. Contrary to what many assume, this is not a good luck charm. Rather, it is a constant reminder of God's presence and God's commandments.
